9th Annual Walk to School – Walk to Town Day – OCTOBER 12, 2017

Walk from home to Harris Stadium – or – or those who live too far to walk from home can meet at the “old” CFIS Parking lot on Philomethian Street by 7:45 am and walk to Harris Stadium with a group of adults and students. Einstein’s bagels, lemonade and raffle tickets for prizes will be given out at Harris Stadium to all walkers.
Students will then walk together to the Learning Village for school.
Students will walk to town – to Riverside Park to participate in a Fun Fitness Fair and enjoy a healthy snack and chances to win prizes. On their way to the park, students will walk as a group to the Federated Church on Bell Street and leave backpacks and chrome books at the lower community room. Then, as a group, escorted by teachers and volunteers, they will proceed onward to Riverside Park for about an hour of fun and games. At about 4:45pm, prizes will be awarded at the park. Parents are welcome to attend.
*Students must stay at Riverside Park during the entire event unless leaving early with a parent.
END of EVENT:
After the prize ceremony, students will walk in escorted groups back to the Federated Church lower entrance, pick up their secured items, and be dismissed. Students can walk home, or be picked up by a parent between 5:30-5:45pm. Cars can queue in front of the CFIS building and loop to Federated though the pass in between the parking lots. In case of rain, Walk to School Day will be moved to Friday, October 27 and you will receive a dial-out reminder and it will be posted here.
