Back by popular demand is Walk and Roll Wednesdays…the fun contests that encourage students to get some exercise, enjoy the weather and reduce their carbon “footprint” by walking or biking to and from school and at recess on Wednesdays. Contest dates are Wednesdays from April 10th to May 29th. Each school has its own contest this year; check your school’s contest page for details under our Events tab above.
May is National Bike Month! Safe Routes will be celebrating cycling all month. Will you join us?
Saturday, May 4th (noon -3pm) Safe Routes Chagrin and the Chagrin Falls Police present Bike-A-Palooza, the annual Bike Rodeo for students K-6th grade. Bring your bikes and helmets to the CFIS parking lot and join the fun! Get your bike tuned up, practice your biking skills and enjoy free food & prizes. At 3pm, there will be an on-street police-escorted ride so you can practice your “Street Smarts” in cycling.
Both CFMS and CFIS host Bike to School events in May, so mark your calendars!
- Wed, May 8th – a delayed-start day – CFIS students will enjoy a Bike to School with Dads Day. Dads, grandfathers, uncles (and even moms) are invited to join the fun ride to school, enjoy bagels and juice and then to stay for an in-class activity during morning meeting.
- Friday, May 10th – Bike to School at CFMS Students will meet at the CFIS parking lot to bike together to the stadium for bagels and juice. After school, they’ll bike to a fun NEW middle-school only bike event at Frohring Meadows.
