Wednesday, May 4, 2016

Bike To School With Dads’ Day is hosted by:
Safe Routes Chagrin and the Chagrin Falls Dads’ Club

and sponsored by:

Cleveland Clinic family health center and  Mountain Road Cycles

Safe Routes Chagrin and the Dads’ Club have teamed up again for this fun event!  Dads can be a “Roll Model” (moms can too) and bike to school with your child.  Group rides are forming by neighborhood.  If you live too far to bike to school, there is a park and ride opportunity too– Meet at the Cleveland Clinic Family Health Center on Washington St. for a police-escorted group ride to school.  Once at school, all bike riders will get Einstein’s bagels and beverages (coffee for adults).  Students will be entered for raffle prizes and will get an extra ticket if wearing their Safe Routes t-shirt (that they received for Walk to School Day, either this fall or any year!).
Dads (if you can stay) are invited to their child’s classroom for an activity to start the school day.

Before School

All Dads, Grandfathers, Uncles, older brothers (and moms) are encouraged to ride with students to and from school on Wednesday, May 4th. All bike riders must wear a helmet!

Sign up here to meet at a location in your neighborhood to bike to school together.

If you live too far away to bike from your neighborhood, you can meet at the Cleveland Clinic building at 551 E Washington Street (parking is available) and bike from there as a large group with police escort — departing promptly at 7:30am.

Once at the school, all bike riders can enjoy lemonade and bagels in the gym (and coffee for grown-ups) and will be eligible for PRIZES.

Adults are invited to stay for an in-class activity during morning meeting in their student’s homeroom (will last until about 9:00am)

After school

Dads meet with students from their neighborhood (same as morning group) and bike home from school.  Students who live too far away can be picked up with their bikes in the CFIS parking lot.

IN THE EVENT OF RAIN:  If it’s too wet to ride, the event will be postponed until Friday, May 6 and you will receive a dial-out message from Ms. Read. It will also be  posted on this website.
