Switch Gears And Bike To Boosters Tailgate

To celebrate the opening of our new bike route and bike racks at the Chagrin Falls Middle School campus, we held our first “Bike To The Boosters Tailgate” event this year.  Families were encouraged to start of school with a family bike ride to the first home football game.  Studies had shown that starting a new habit at the beginning of a new phase of life (new city, new school) is the BEST way to make a change in the form of transportation you usually take.  We thought encouraging kids to try biking as the school year began and pairing it with a fun event might encourage them to continue biking daily.

It was also great to get a few families out of their cars and on to bikes.  Parking at the football game is never easy!

Those that attended on bikes were entered in to a raffle to win a brand new bike from Mountain Road Cycles.  We also showed off our new bike trailer and classroom set of bikes to be used by student clubs and physical education classes this year.  It was a great event.
